Writing a poem

 

is exactly

 

like taking a shit.

 

You’ll just be sitting there,

 

working or

 

watching TV,

 

reading, whatever,

 

and suddenly,

 

it takes you over.

 

It becomes

 

the most important thing.

 

It is urgent.

 

Get it out, or

 

face the consequences.
